Your Local Monitoring Station: Security
ONE's New Home
At Security ONE, peace of mind means more
than a security system. It means keeping your home, your
loved ones, and your precious belongings safe and secure.
Security ONE has a new state of the art
monitoring facility. It is the only alarm company to offer
our own "active", local monitoring that is also
certified by the Underwriters Laboratory of Canada (ULC).

What is the difference between “active” and “passive”monitoring?
Other alarm companies use “passive” alarm
monitoring which means they only receive an alarm signal
once your alarm goes off. If you have not had an alarm
in several months or years, your alarm may have not communicated
with the station during that time.
Security ONE offers “active” monitoring,
which means your panel sends a daily test signal to ensure
your system is functioning properly. This is an essential
service which is extended to all of our clients, with no
additional fees. (Continued below) |

Keeping Kids Safe
One
of the great things about kids is their natural trust in other
people, particularly adults. It’s
hard for parents to teach children to balance this trust with
caution, but children need to know how to protect themselves
and know how to handle threatening situations.
Teach children to: Use the
telephone properly in case of emergencies and practice making
emergency phone calls with them; Memorize their name, address,
phone number and your work number; Walk confidently and stay
alert to what is going on around them; Walk and play with friends,
not alone; Refuse rides or gifts from someone they don’t
know well.
If Children Are Alone at Home After School,
Make Sure They Know:
The check-in procedure to follow,
whether with you at work or with a neighbor; Emergency telephone
numbers; Not to let stranger into the home, for any reason; Not
to tell telephone callers they are alone; How to work the door
and window locks; Your rules about acceptable activities; Not
to go into the home if the door is ajar or the window is broken;
and lastly, children can learn how to arm and disarm your alarm
system.
Did Your Children Make it Home?
Security ONE’s unique
E-Notify service allows parents the ability to receive
a message via their Blackberry or e-mail when anyone arms or
disarms their alarm system. When your son or daughter arrives
home alone, you will be notified instantly. Call for further
details on this unique service. Free trial available - Call 1-800-265-5317

Our Feature Product...
Who will hear your smoke alarm when you
are away? A monitored system will.
You’re ready to leave on vacation
and you’ve thought of everything. The car has been
serviced, the newspaper stopped and the mail held at the
post-office. All that’s left is to activate
the security system and you’re on you’re way.
That’s everything. Well, almost everything.
Your house
may be secure from break-ins, but what about fire, the potential
danger within. You may already have battery or AC powered
smoke detectors, but who would hear them if you’re
not home? If they are not connected to your security system
and are not monitored, who would call the fire department
before everything you cherish is destroyed?
Fire can strike
anyone, anywhere, anytime. It will not be frightened by an
alarm, as a burglar would. The burglar will not steal your
family photo albums, but a fire will. Jewellery can be replaced,
but baby pictures cannot. Even though you have a monitored
security system, without monitored smoke detectors, your
home will never be secure against one of the most dangerous
intruders. Now, you can have the complete protection you
need with a series of smoke detectors that can be monitored
and easily integrated into most new or existing First Alert
Professional security systems. The same system that guards
your home’s security will guard your home against fire.
Now, turn your security system into one that monitors against
real intruders, those that can be frightened away, and one
that cannot - fire. |
 |
| Monitored smoke detectors protect you, even when you’re
not on vacation: |
1 While
you're at work or school.
2 While you're
out for the evening.
3 While teenagers
are home alone.
4 In homes where
there are elderly, disabled or hearing impaired.
5 If you are
overcome by fumes from a smoldering fire.
6 If you are
unable to to reach the phone.
7 24 hours a
day, whether your system is armed or disarmed.
8 Whether
you're home or away. |
